What is the Big Buddies program?

Students volunteer from local high schools come to your child’s school to assist him or her with academic as well as social enhancing skills and participate in group activities.  The program meets twice a month, immediately after-school for 1 ½ hour sessions.  The program provides your child with another positive role model and a special friend.

Big Buddies

High School Mentoring Program

How much does the program cost?

It’s FUN, it’s FREE, and children receive attention with social and academic areas!

How do I know I can trust the volunteer my child is paired with?

A qualified Big Brothers Big Sisters staff person carefully processes and screen all volunteer mentors.  Volunteers also participate in a training session prior to the start of the program.

Will my child see their mentor outside of the Buddies program?

Volunteers and children only see each other during the scheduled program time.  A Big Brothers Big Sisters staff person is also on-site during the mentoring session to supervise and support matches involved in the program.
